Birck Seminar Series: Building a Novel Quantum Light-matter Interface with Cold Atoms Coupled to a Nanophotonic Circuit
Join Chen-Lung Hung from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, as he discusses focusing on advancements in quantum light–matter interfaces using cold atoms integrated with nanophotonic circuits. The seminar will explore how hybrid atom–photon platforms can enable scalable quantum technologies by combining the robustness of photonic circuits with the precision of cold-atom control. Professor Hung will discuss recent progress in improving light collection, cooling, and trapping of atoms near nanophotonic structures, as well as methods to achieve strong atom–photon coupling. The presentation will highlight both experimental achievements and emerging opportunities for developing coherent quantum interfaces with broad applications in quantum information science.
