Research Impact
Neil oversees electrical and magnetic characterization at Birck, at cryogenic to elevated temperatures (1.8 K – 1000 K) and in high magnetic fields (9 tesla). Magnetic characterization (DC or AC susceptibility): Quantum Design MPMS-3 SQUID magnetometer. Electrical and thermal characterization: Quantum Design DynaCool PPMS and a suite of 8 probe stations offering a wide temperature range, controlled atmosphere, and automated wafer probing from DC to RF. Materials characterization services are available, please contact Neil. The combination of the state-of-the-art equipment and the deep technical experience of the Birck research scientists produce a prized asset for our facility.
